A field guide
to renting in Uganda.
Staypins is a directory of verified rentals, homes for sale and short stays — owner-listed, commission free. We started in Kampala in 2023 and have been mapping the country block by block ever since.
Renting in Uganda runs on phone calls, agent commissions, and screenshots of unverified listings. Tenants spend weeks chasing units that are no longer available; landlords pay a month’s rent in fees every time a tenant turns over. We built Staypins because the same listings circulate forever and almost none of them are accountable to anyone.
§ 01 — What we doThe work, briefly.
- Verify that listings come from real owners or authorised managers.
- Let landlords post and manage their own units without placement fees.
- Give tenants a searchable, map-backed view of what is actually available.
- Keep inquiries on the platform so both sides have a record of the conversation.
Made between Kampala & Entebbe.
Staypins is registered in Uganda. Our office is at Plot 14, Kampala Road, and the team is split between Kampala and Entebbe. We started in 2023 with a handful of listings in Ntinda and Bukoto, and have grown city by city since — Muyenga, Kololo, Jinja, Mbarara, the lakeside belt to Entebbe.
§ 03 — How we make moneyNo cut of rent. Ever.
Staypins is free for tenants and free to list. We earn through optional paid placements for landlords who want extra visibility, and through verified-listing services for property managers. The unit price you see is the unit price you pay.
§ 04 — Talk to usThe door is open.
